I think I might be growning...

Chatham had his 3 year-old check up:

3 ft. 4.5 in=98th percentile for height
35.6 lbs=86th percentile for weight

Everything checked out great! "He has quite the vocabulary" was an exact quote from Dr. S!

Chatham does have a slight heart murmur and therefore we will be visiting a pediatric cardiologist for an echocardiogram in the near future. We'd appreciate your prayers, but Dr. S assured me that she is one of the more conservative doctors and this is common in three year-olds, they often grow out of it by age 5 and since Chatham is so active and can keep up with other kids on the soccer field she is certain he will check out just fine!

Chatham was excited to get to pee in a cup this visit- SUCH A BOY!!!!

One! Two! Three!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my first born! My Baby Boy! My C-Weed! (We told Chatham one day that he could be a famous author and go by the name C. Reid...his response was "I am not seaweed")
Three years ago at 9:50 AM- I was laying in the OR having my 6 lb. 12 oz. sweet baby boy!!!! I can't remember my life before and never want to know a life without him!!!!
We love you Chatham!!! Happy Third Birthday!!!

Chatham-isms

First day back at work- it's been a bit harder than I expected. To keep myself laughing instead of crying I have been thinking of all the funny things Chatham says!

"brrrr-ing" = I'm cold

"beeping up"= backing up

"put you in fire"= put you in time out for tattling....haven't figured out the connection

"I want to hold Harper, but please don't take our picture"....I think I need to step away from the camera

"they are by the side, by the side"- meaning they are next to each other 'side by side'

He LOVES when things match! Even if it's seeing another boy that looks his age he'll shout "WE MATCH"

Anything with big tires is a monster truck...Paul's truck, the beach wagon....

Anytime there is a loud sound (thunder, a door slamming, someone walking upstairs) Chatham asks if it's the dinosaurs

Playing Dress Up

Yee-Haw!

We celebrated Chatham's birthday this weekend with a cowboy party at church! He had a ball- and all of his friends were there.

They all dressed the part!
We had Rattlesnake Bites (Mini Corndogs), Cow Patties (chocolate nobake cookies), and S'more bites- along with some other Western sounding delites.
I had a lot of help with the decorations! My friend Abby painted the Western town with me (she free-handed the entire thing!) As always Paul was my cupcake wizard making a sheriff's badge for us!

Hi-Ho-Hi-Ho

"Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened."-Dr. Suess

Well in all honesty there have been some tears-because tomorrow I head back to work....

2 month update

Harper is two months old! We had our appt Friday and learned that she is a tiny little thing! 25th percentile across the board. Weighing in at 10 lbs and 8.5 oz and measuring 23.5 inches long. Harper wears size 1 diapers and 0-3 or 3 month clothes.
We got a prescription for her colic and things are already looking up just 24 hours later. We are also still giving her gas drops at night and one or two doses of Colic Calm in between prescription doses.
Harper is learning to hold her head up; and loves to sit on the play mat and look around.
Sleeping through the night is hit or miss, but most nights we get one 4-6 hour stretch- so it's getting better. This will be my last week at home with Miss H and I am dreading going back to work. Harper will be staying with my mom for the month of April before starting daycare.
Chatham LOVES his sister and now when he holds her he says "I want to hold her, but don't take our picture Mommy".
Harper is a great shopper and sleeps through most lunch dates we've had. Being held and walked around is her favorite, but she also likes to be in her swing (especially for nap time). Bath time and Baby Massage before bed is probably Harper's favorite time of the whole day.
I can't believe she's already 9 weeks old! She is so smiley and loves to be talked to. I can't wait to keep learning about her personality!!!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Activities

In my last post I mentioned dinosaurs and monkeys....
WELL, Curious George came to Hickory and Poppy took Thomas to meet him at Barnes and Noble- once I get ahold of Poppy's iPhone I'll post a picture. I thought for sure soccer practice would be canceled and we'd get to meet the curious monkey too- but apparently 3 and 4 year olds soccer is very serious and even with all the rain and mud we practiced at 9 A.M. sharp.
We all met back up at the Science Center to check out the dinosaur exhibit- Gram made the boys these CUTE matching shirts. Poppy helped Chatham make it through the dinosaur room and then it was on to bigger and better things. The golf ball room was definitely a BIG hit!

Fun in the Sun

The weather here has been beautiful!!! Mid-seventies and GREAT for playing outside. We have started soccer, so we try to take Chatham outside and practice, but football is definitely more his cup of tea.
Devin was inside with Harper and I was sitting at the patio table just watching- this kid can entertain himself for hours outside.
He managed to play an entire game of catch by-him-self, that takes talent!
Then we played the body part game- where you call out a body part and you have to touch the ball with that part.....head! knee! hiney!
I LOVE this face!!!! And of course I couldn't leave Miss Harper out of a blog post! She is seven weeks old today! She slept through the night (7 1/2 hours) on Wednesday night...but sadly it was a one time thing. Now we're back to up every three hours. She's in size one diapers, wore her first pair of shoes this week, and eats 3-4 oz. at each feeding. She is such a snuggler, and loves to be in her carseat. She is a pro shopper and has slept through every meal out I've had.
