Fun around the house

This week has been fun with all the special days at daycare; which have lead into some special nights at home.
We have played dress up (Chatham got Devin the Captain America shirt for Valentines day), read tons of books (since its book fair week), and played outside on the gator (when it wasn't raining).
This weekend soccer starts up again, so we are going to be very busy. I just wanted to blog to help me remember that even when we are rushed and at our wits-end, I love my family and our life!

Happy Valentines!!!

Our Valentine's morning started out with some YUMMY heart shaped pancakes!
I made a candy-gram card for Devin which he loved-other than the fact he decided to give up sweets for Lent! Looks like this will be his Easter candy too!!!
I had a sweet friend, Chrystal, make these ADORABLE shirts for the kiddos (and some friends)- Mrs. Shelley at daycare made the girls matching Vday bows to go with their outfits!
We had a lot of people show their love for us sending cards and treats all week long! I love holidays!
I hope everyone is having a very happy Valentine's day and know's how special they are!

Passenger Hunt

Chatham has been very well behaved lately- remembering his please and thank yous; doing what he's told when he's asked. I love what a young man he's becoming. Devin and I decided to reward this good behavior with a treat!
I had a little scavenger hunt (known by Chatham as a passenger hunt)- and when he got home from school Wednesday there was a note on the front door that told him to go in. Just inside was another note, and another, and another- finally he made his way to the garage and found this......
Anyone that knows Chatham, knows he has BEGGED for a Gator for every birthday, Christmas  Easter, any  Holiday for the last two years. His face was PRICELESS when he opened the door (I have that picture on the big camera, but this iPhone pic will do for now. He immediately went and picked up Hannah and they drove all over the neighborhood for nearly an hour!
Harper did go for a short ride int he bed of the Gator (with mommy holding on to her) but was perfectly content sitting in her own little ride, beeping the horn.

What we do on a cold winters day....

School let out early one day a few weeks ago and it got icey quick! I am glad we have such good friends that live right next door (on both sides of us) we had a party! The kids did crafts- meet Harry the Spider and Buzz the Bumble Bee.
Before it got too icey Michael and Don ventured out to Papa Murphy's and got 5 BIG pizzas. The Crowders, Tiff and Reg, the Brinkleys, and the Minguses all came over and we chowed down before the kids starting begging to sled and ice skate. We put them off for a bit because it was still sleeting (they finger painted and made the matchbox cars "sled" through the paint.

Around 6:30 the sleet let up and there was a THICK sheet of ice all over the neighborhood. We all got out our sleds and bundled up. (and a can on PAM spray to add some speed) Harper loved going down the bottom half of our driveway.
Devin took our kids down and Hannah rode with me- then the kids just "ice skated" around the cul-de-sac while the adults had some fun. We have quite the competitive crowd and a VERY steep driveway! The guys got the golf carts out and did some doughnuts in the cul-de-sac. It was fun to slide all the way down the road, then have the golf cart waiting to drive you back to the driveway. I hope we get some real snow so we can do it again!

Sweet Things

I have developed a MAJOR sweet tooth- it started when I was pregnant with Harper, and just never went away.
I am always making cookies- and Chatham has loved helping me pick out the treats to put in them. The ones baking above are m&m and butterscotch chip cookies- they were DELISH!
On Superbowl Sunday we had some friends over and I just so happen to be driving by Krispy Kreme when the hot and ready light was on! I had been craving donuts for nearly 2 weeks and finally caved. They were just as good as I had hoped. (I snapped this picture at a stop light and love how baby Sally is peeking out of the diaper bag like she's eyeing the donuts!)
We had a Cupcake/Sweet Shop birthday party to go to also- Harper's Bestie Alee turned 1 on Feb. 5th and had a cute candy shop party at Abernethy Church.
