Pullen Park

We went to Raleigh over the weekend to stay with my sister and let the boys go to VBS at their church. We packed in the fun while we were there. Pullen Park was SO much fun, I can't wait to go again the next time we visit. They have a boat ride...
a real caboose to walk through....
a carousal... (which Chatham rode for the first time; he normally freaks out and ends up riding on the bench)
see saws.....
and the real train! (that we rode TWICE!) Harper has no fear- she did everything there was to ride and wouldn't even sit on my lap on the train- "SIT OWN".
My kiddos loved it, they were so sweaty and tired by the end of the day!!

You never know....

With Harper, you never know what you're gonna get with Harper!! She comes up to you wearing hats, shoes, purses, carrying backpacks three times her size....
At Gram's she walks out of the garage and onto the porch with Chatham's bike helmet on- she couldn't get it snapped- and said "Hep, Peas".... What a sweetie!
This is not the best picture, but the video Devin got is HYSTERICAL!!! Harper pulled out her pig tails and has what I call- Ace Ventura hair- also she is wearing fair wings, and my boat shoes!! She walked in the kitchen, picked up Chatham's backpack and said "I pretty".

Pirates and Princesses

For those of you that are Disney Junior families, you know this summer's theme on the Disney Channel has been Pirates and Princesses!!! Lots of Jake and Sophia episodes. When we heard the Disney Live show was coming to Greensboro- we snatched up tickets and called some friends.
Cara spent the night Friday and I LOVED getting to do her hair in a "Princess Bun"!!  I dressed three kiddos and picked up the Wade Princesses. Suzy and Chris brought their boys and met up in Greensboro for lunch and the show. The kids looked amazing and were SO EXCITED!!!

Especially when they walked in and saw Sophia and Jake pictures EVERYWHERE!
We found our seats....
 and swapped costume accessories.
We passed the time before the show by taking a million pictures! I was a little nervous about taking an 18 month old to a show that requires you to sit still and be quiet....
but she did SO, SO well!! In fact she couldn't take her eyes off the pirates!!

My handsome pirate got SO many compliments on his costume, he was the BEST!!!!!
This was our birthday celebration for Lauren and I'd say she loved it!! Now to get ready for her Luau party with more friends!!!

Fun on the IPad

Chatham loves to take pictures on the IPad, and he recently discovered the photo booth app.
Mommy had some fun with it too!

The last few weekends

We started out our weekend with Harper's 18 month appt. She is 75-80 % across the board. 25 lbs, 33 inches.
Dr. L was AMAZED with how much she is speaking and followed directions. I asked about the waking up at night and he assured me it is normal, pointed out two new teeth and STILL gave me a website to rule out night terrors.

Saturday, we woke up to torrential dour pours and LOTS of flooding.

The sun came out and things dried up on Sunday so we played outside.
(yes, in our jammies- it's my kids FAVORITE outfits)
There was a turtle crawling through the mulch, so Devin brought it onto the patio for the kids to check out.
Chatham got a nice little shiner playing baseball with Daddy. He said "I think an icey pop as an ice pack will help, but then I can eat it".

The rain wasn't enough water for us, so we headed Downtown to pay at the splash pad.
Harper loves running in and out of the water- I think a trip to Great Wolf is in our future!
