Rock Barn Pool

This weekend while the cousins were here we went to Rock Barn to swim. It was fun to see The boys swim and even jump off the diving board.

The shared a noodle and even taught Poppy how to blow water out of it, like a squirt gun!

Harper chilled in the shade and enjoyed rolling around on the towels; the water was a little cold for her to take a dip that day.

I heard this song watching a vlog I follow and it brings tears to my eyes as I think about how fast Harper is growing and how BIG Chatham already is!!!!!

Busy, Busy

So I already wrote about our trip to the air port Saturday, well that's not all we did- it was a VERY busy day!

We did lots of crafts- I traced Chatham's outline and let him color it, he drew eyes and a heart. Then he asked me to do the hair and "a smiley mouth". The rest was added by Chatham and he mentioned a belly button, food, grass, and a soccer ball. We made a turtle and a crab out of construction paper that we ripped into squares.

 Friday night after we got home from swimming Paul came by we a treat for Chatham!! A SANDBOX!!! Paul helped Devin build the swing set back in March and knew we were in the market. Thanks Paul!!!!

 After the trip to the airport we went to Geitner park and walked down by the lake. Chatham found a little wooden bunny marking the start of hiking trail.

 Devin and Chatham spotted a boat and watched it drive off into the sunset. Then it was time to go home and get some rest.

 But first Harper needed to eat, and for the first time Chatham offered to feed her. It didn't last long- but she ate about a sixth of the bottle on his lap. HAHA

Another water baby

We have awesome neighbors that have us over to swim often. We've been swimming about twice a week since the beginning of May. Harper loves the water (since they keep it heated to 88 degrees) and floats around for about thirty minutes before getting out to snuggle and nap.

Chatham has been having a ball too. The last two times we've been over I've taken off his swimmies and let him swim with me. He is getting SO good. He'll go under to grab rings, do a cannon ball off the side (a real one, he even grabs his knees), and will float on his back (while I have one hand loosely on his back.  I am so proud of this boy!!

Planes go ZOOM!

We took a little trip to our local airport this weekend. Chatham had a ball (and who knew that Hickory had an aviation museum!?)

We saw personal jets, commercial planes, and fighter jets. Chatham wasn't into all the picture taking, he wanted to know when we were going for a ride (sorry kiddo)!

But he appeased his sweet mommy and let me snap away.

Harper had fun too- she just liked being outside.

Maybe we'll be lucky enough to find some other hidden gems in our little town!

Summer Reading

Last week was the Summer Reading Kick Off at the Conover Library. It is an Over the Moon theme and the kids (we tagged along with the Wade's) had a great time! Luckily Lisa had her camera and I snagged some pictures from her.

After reading a few books and singing some songs, the kids decorated a star with their name on it to hang on the wall. Then they made marshmallow monsters and got a treat bag with a record sheet to keep up with our reading goal. Our goal is to read at least 15 minutes every night. And So far we've met that goal!!!

Chatham's latest artwork

Getting home from school yesterday I asked Chatham to get a present out of the car and bring it in for me. He was SO happy to help!! It was a pencil bag with a personalized pen in it.... I was unloading Harper and realized it was taking him a while to come back in the house, I walked out to see what the hold up was and THIS is what I found!! 

*luckily it came right out with a little fabric cleaner, but Chatham doesn't know that, he thinks he has to clean it this weekend with "soapies and a paper towel". 

When asked why he did it, he said that he wanted a pen with his letter on it.

Cookies

Chatham and Mommy decorated some cookies Daddy made this weekend and they were SO good!!!

 It took a lot of concentration- and Chatham lost interest after only three cookies, but he loved the cookie ccutter process.

We had big and small circles, butterflies, stars, bears, cowboy boots, music notes, and squares.



Happy Birthday MG!

This weekend we went to Chuck E. Cheese for Mary Grace's 4th birthday.

We had never taken Chatham there, he LOVED it!!! He even got a treat for harper with some of his tickets (a purple spider)

The red car that you "ride with Chuck E" was his favorite. Which surprised me since he was looking over his shoulder the entire day to make sure "that mouse doesnt get me".

It was a princess theme and it makes me very excited for pretty pink parties to come.

New Camera

We have been researching new cameras for a few months now and finally settled on a Nikon D3100.

 I spent most of day today testing out all the settings-

 I definitely love this camera!!!
