A Day in the Life!

Well....Tomorrow Chatham will be THREE months old!! Wow, where has the time gone- but at the same time I don't remember what life was like without him. (pretty bland obviously!) Things are VERY different now then they were even a month ago.
~He hold his head up on his own VERY well, loves to do push ups now (just starting this week)
~He has found his hands and NEVER takes them out of his mouth,
~We have our pooping problem almost under control- NO MORE PEDIA-LAX YAY!!!
~Reflux is a hit or miss problem from day to day, but we are sticking with 4 oz. feedings every 3- 4 hours and he is gaining weight, so the Doc says we're doing fine!
~He doesn't seem to mind bath time as much anymore- although the kiddie tub was a NO NO! ~He likes to bath in the big tub with mama or daddy. He bathes everyday now to be sure there is no spit up in his lovely, lovely locks!! (My child will have shoulder length hair before age one at the rate it's growing)

We still have lots of play dates even though Mama and Daddy are both working. Chatham went to Rock Barn to swim with Carsyn this week and they had a ball! I will post pictures soon.

We also have Sunday play dates- this past week was Father's day but the week before that we hung out with little Whitney. They rolled around on the blanket and stared at each other (Whitney is two months younger than Chatham) We had been telling Whitney's parents how Chatham wasn't a fan of doing mini push up and of course in the midst of that conversation he pushed up and held it for a good 30 seconds (TWICE) *way to make Mama look like a liar kiddo!!!
We refer to Chatham as Scooter now because of his ability to scoot out of his bouncey seat if not straped in and his scooting manuever that I blogged about earlier in the week- however, we ditched the wedge and he is now in the same spot when I get him in the mornings.
My new skill is my cat like reflexes to help me dodge pee streams!
My advice to new mamas, from my three months of experience is to invest in Spray 'n Wash- it gets ANYTHING out of clothes, toys, and blankets!!!

What a morning! I went in to get Chatham up this morning and he had scooted all the way across the crib! His head was literally where his feet were when I put him down 8 hours early. (yes you read that right....) MY SON has sleep for a consecutive EIGHT hours a night!! YAY!!!
Father's Day was fun! We got Devin a new golf bag (which he's been using for two weeks already!) and Chatham got a kiddie pool that we tried out on Sunday. He wasn't a fan, because it was too shallow, we will fill it up further next time, but I did try to show him that he can kick and splash- he giggles as the water flew all over the carport. (PS- Thank you Terea for the CUTE swim trunks!)
After 30 minutes of swimming, a bottle, 30 minutes on the playmat, and 15 minutes of tummy time...he was beat!
A note from Chatham:
I hope your weekend was as fun as might was!! I love hanging out with my Mama and Daddy! Happy Belated B-day to Daddy!!!

What a Week

Well Chatham has been quite the go getter this weekend. Sunday we had a playdate with out friends The Spleet's their little girl, Whitney, is a month younger than Chatham. Tuesday Gram took Chatham to Winston for the afternoon to see Cousin Thomas (I think Beth took some pictures, so as soon as I get them I will post em). Then we were going to have a swim date with Carsyn and her parents, but of course it rained. So we went to our favorite Mexican resturant instead. Carsyn is SO cute and is just as vocal as Chatham is (although he slept the whole time- AGAIN!) Wednesday Nana came over for dinner and Chatham was quite the show off "talking" and kicking and just being a ham.

P.S.- We now have proof that Mike Wilbon is aware of his friendship with my son- HE SAID CHATHAM'S NAME! ON THE AIR!!! (so maybe it was actually in reference to West Chatham Park in Chicago- but CHATHAM came from his lips!!!) TOLD YA SO!!!!

A Note From Chatham:
Today is my Daddy's birthday- Mama has planned a suprise dinner with some friends and family tonight at Daddy's favorite resturant and then Uncle Joe is coming over to play!! This weekend is also Father's Day so I'm sure Mama will be taking a gazillion pictures of me like she did on Mother's Day (What is it with that lady and her camera!!) I have several playdates coming up in the next few weeks and can't wait to see my friends.

Chatham's New Friend

This is Mike Wilbon. He is Chatham's new friend. He is on Pardon the Interupttion on ESPN. Whenever Chatham (and Devin) are watching this program and Mike starts talking Chatham starts screaming and waving his arms (in an effort to have Mr. Wilborn pick him up)
Thought this was cute and wanted to share.

I'm a Big Boy Now!

So this weekend was a HUGE step for Little Chatham Saturday AND Sunday night he slept in his Crib, in his OWN room, on the OTHER side of the house!!! I am pretty sure it was more stressful on Mama then it was for baby. Saturday night was the biggest storm we've had in quite a while and our house got struck by lightening TWICE! It blow fuses and made a horrible CRACK! of course I jumped out of bed to go calm my son- who DIDN'T budge! Not even a flinch! So in his crib he stayed. My he's such a big boy.

Also we went to the Rib Festival in Winston Saturday and Chatham loved it (except for having to wear sunscreen) He danced in the shade while we listened to music and then put Chatham in the frontpack and walked around looking at all the bright signs and loud/flashy rides- he was in heaven. We only stayed about an hour and a half because it was so hot; when we got back to the car we striped him down to his diaper and put a blanket in the trunk and just let him squirm and wiggle and stretch before putting him in the hot box (aka his carseat).

Super-Duper Pooper!!!

As many of you know Chatham has been having some poopy problems! (As in not having any!)

So the pediatrician told us to use PediaLax every 48 hours- this is a laxative for 2-5 year-olds so we only give him a fourth of it and you guessed it, it's a suposatory :( (in unison "poor thing"); but he has been quite a trooper and has pooped (with help) everyother day for three weeks now.

So... today at work (around 9AM) I get a phone call from my mom saying "HE POOPED!!!!!!"
and it took a minute for it to sink in that tonight is a "pedialax night" which mean.... drum roll please....
MY SON POOPED! on his own! YAY!!!!!

Might be too much info, but we are some proud parents today, so we wanted to spread the joy!

2 months and growing.....

I love to kick around on my playmat!!!

This is my beach suit from Carsyn! and Mama's attempt at a 2 month picture- but I wasn't willing to cooperate- the fan was MUCH more interesting to look at!

My Cousin Thomas came to visit and we had a playdate with Carsyn- none of us seemed too interested in the camera this day either- but look at how big we are all getting (Left to Right: Carsyn at 10 weeks, Thomas at 6 weeks, and Chatham at 8 weeks)

I knew this day would come.....

But I am still not prepared!!!!
I am back at work- today is day two. And I go at lunch to visit my little guy, so that is helping ease the pain.
I cried both mornings dropping him off at my mom's (I know it's better than day care; but still sucks!!)

At Chatham's 2 month appt. last Wed. He weighed in at 12 lbs. 10.5 oz. and was 23 3/4 inches long. (both of which put him just over the 75th percentile for his age)
He was offically diagnoised with Reflux (suprise, suprise) but we actually have put him strictly on formula (Similac Sensitive RS) and that has helped keep the spit up to a minimum of one bib per feeding. I know that doesn't sound right- but you have to realize that we were having to use a recieving blanket as a burp cloth (and no I'm not joking).

More pictures are coming- I've been a little slack lately.
