RED FLAG

It has been brought to my attention that I have been slacking in the "photos of Chatham" department!!!!!!
"No pictures of Mr. C in FOUR posts!"
I guess 4 is the limit....5 and I would begin to lose readers....which would suck since I am pretty sure I can count all of you on my fingers, maybe some toes...but lets not get a coincided now!

So I guess the purpose of this post is:

Chatham enjoying the people at El Paso for Dinner
AND

Chatham getting ready to leave for the Abernethy CDC Carnival
Thanks for sticking around- I hope it was worth it!

Look Who's Talking

Chatham LOVES to talk (I wonder who he gets that from???)

He babbles all day long- and gets rather impatient when you don't listen and/or respond to him. But nothing he has said up to this point has really made sense... Until this morning!!!

As we were headed out the door to school Chatham looked at me and said "bye bye Mama" I was SO proud of him. We clapped and continued out the door to the car. In the car while eating his breakfast and drinking some milk he missed the cup holder on the car seat and his cup fell to the floor. Chatham pointed to the cup and said "Uh oh Mama". It was SO cute!!!! I picked his cup up and handed it to him and he gave me a VERY toothy grin!!! (don't worry we were at a stoplight!)

I can't believe today Chatham is 13 months old. Talking, Walking, Amazing me each and everyday!!!!!!

The Greatest Story Ever Told

"The Greatest Story Ever Told" is the title of our Wedding Song- because I do believe this is the Greatest Story Ever Told!!!

Kelly's Corner is hosting "How you Met your Husband" and here is my story:

We grew up in the same SMALL town- but never met. We went to opposing High Schools (Newton-Conover and St. Stephens) we both worked in popular spots in town... but some how NEVER crossed paths...
I went away to school in Greensboro, Devin went to Charleston for Culinary School...

In November 2003..... I moved back home and started working at Rock Barn Country Club.
In 2004 Devin came to do his internship at Rock Barn in order to graduate from college. He had NO intention of staying at Rock Barn after the semester.....Until he met ME!!!!

He asked me to go to the employee Christmas party with him in 2004.

We started dating fairly quickly and after only a few dates we became a couple.

After several more serious dates.....

Camping with Josh and Abby

Dinner at Youssef's 2-4-2 with Dave, Josh, and Shell.

I invited Devin to my sister's wedding at the beach....

We moved in together shortly after that.

Devin decided to take me on a cruise for my 22nd birthday

I loved it- thought it was the best gift EVER!!! Little did I know...he had THIS RING in his pocket the whole time!

We got engaged on May 13th, 2006

And said our Vows on September 15th, 2007

Dan Nicholas Park

All day Saturday "The Picnic Song" by Raffi played over and over in my head......

...Going On A Picnic, Leaving Right Away.....

....If It Doesn't Rain We'll Stay All Day.....

Saturday Suzy, Lisa, and I took four of our five kids to Dan Nicholas Park. We didn't technically picnic- unless hot dogs, pretzels and popcorn on a park bench count.

WE DID:

ride the Hurley Train, which was a HUGE hit with the kiddos!

And the Carousel....

*No picture of Chatham because he was NOT a fan and preferred the bench to an animal.

*just for the record: This was the fastest carousel I've EVER been on!!!

- we spent A LOT of time on the playground!!!

Everyone seemed to like the slide... except Harrison (who preferred Aunt Sisa's Cheerwine Slushie)

We also went to a petting barn and aquarium (pictures of that will be posted tomorrow)

Here we are as the day was winding down! I loved spending the day with the girls (and Chatham and Harrison!)

More Birthday Pictures

Before the party started we went to the Winston-Salem Children's Museum for 'Paw Pals Story Time'. My Aunt's two Golden's (Max and Jack) were the volunteer dogs there to read to the kids.

Chatham loved it, although he wouldn't sit still to listen to the stories.

Then we went back to my Aunt's and met up with Thomas and the rest of the family to celebrate.

The decorations were lovely!

And there were TONS of gifts!!!

While Thomas walked around with Poppy....

I hung out with Uncle Al

Mama helped me open my presents...and I kept looking SO surprised when she'd rip the paper off......

WOW!!!!

We'll have our cake- And eat it too!

Thankful Thursday!!!

I am thankful for the gifts God had granted our family.

I just LOVE his messy face!!!

For Chatham's birthday we collected food to stuff backpacks for hungry families within the school system where I work. We were able to donate 2 shopping carts FULL of food to the 'Stuff the Back Pack Program'!!!!!!

Birthday presents!!! (A post from Chatham)

I got this cool slide for my birthday... I can go REALLY fast and I laugh SO hard when I hit the bottom.
Although, I can't always figure out how to get back up it.

It has a basketball goal and a place to throw a football through- Daddy seems really excited to teach me to do that. Although I am developing an allergy to grass and break out in a rash if I play in it for too long. So Mama is working on getting a different area to put my slide.

Gram and Poppy got me this cool Anywhere Chair from Pottery Barn- and I LOVE IT. Now I don't have to wait to go play with Harrison's or Cara's.... I have my VERY OWN!!!

My favorite thing to do is walk across the living room then turn around at the last minute and run and dive into the chair- it is SO fun!!!
I got lots of other really cool toys for my friends and family and thank every single one of you for making my birthday SO SO special- I think I'm REALLY going to like being 1!!!
Love,
Chatham

Easter Weekend

As promised Chatham got a hair cut on Saturday morning before going to Nana's for Easter dinner. Amby got Chatham some stuffed animals for his birthday and Nana got him a mega block fill and dump truck....which is a HUGE hit!!

Here are a few more attempts of Easter/Church pictures from Sunday. We picked the sunniest spot there was to make the kids sit still.
I learned a lot about patience and parenting while trying to get five kids to sit still and smile all together....you see who won that battle.

We have been going to First United Methodist the past few weeks and are really liking it. The Cadwallader's invited us one Sunday and we just keep showing back up!! And now we've met the Wade's-that's the littlest Wade, Lauren, sitting next to Cara.
This is Chatham's first Easter Basket. (Stuffed Duck, bubbles, golf socks, a chocolate peanut butter egg with 'Chatham' on it (for Daddy of course), animal eggs filled with fruit snacks, Reese's pieces (again for Daddy) and marshmallows, and bubbles)

Daycare Birthday

Addyson and Chatham enjoyed some cupcakes.

And one last ditch effort to get some use out of my Birthday Banner before it goes into storage.

All the partying wore Little C out- he took a 3 1/2 hour nap that day!
