Pumpkin Carving
HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!!!!
Wednesday Night we had the Cadwallader's over to carve some pumpkins- please excuse how redneck our house looks with boarded up doors and more cars than any one house should have in the driveway!

The men did the carving and then the mom's and kids dug right in.
Suzy and I used stencils for our witch and ghost.
Devin was feeling a bit more artsy and freehanded his flames.
As I was finishing up my witch the first of several tornado warnings am across our county. So sadly Chatham's pumpkin didn't get carved but he liked the silly face I drew on his. He likes to point to it and laugh.
I was VERY proud of my witch! So here's a closer look at her.

Newton Night Crawl
Saturday I ran another 5k
I even got Toph to run with me!
I have been training for 8 weeks now and Toph hasn't run in 11 years......I only beat him by 1 second!
(not looking my best- this was just over 2 miles in to the 3.1 mile race)
We did well- came in 98 and 99 out of 158 people- our time was 36 minutes and 25/26 seconds. (that is 1 minute and 24 seconds faster than my 5k 3 weeks ago) So I was quite happy with the results.

Happy 19 months!!!
Wow- what a big, silly, loving, wonderful, handsome, fun, caring, perfect (to me) son you are!!!!!
You have an infectious laugh and love to play! "O-sides" is your favorite place to play- you like your tricycle, bubbles, and of course Utball.
I think you've hit a growth spurt because you ask to "eat din-din" about every 10 minutes and ALWAYS have some sort of "nack" in your hand. You still call drinks "dukes" and have formed a new love for cucumbers.
Acters (tractors) and loons (balloons) are your favorite toys. and you love to read your animal book to yourself or have Daddy or I read the find teddy on the train book to you.
We love you so much!!!

a busy weekend
This weekend was a bit busier than most- and I'll have more pictures coming from a lot of stuff we did. But here are some details.
We went to Newton-Conover's homecoming game Friday with the Cadwallader's. We sat with the Stewart's and Mullinax's and all the kids had fun jumping and cheering. (see pictures from previous post)
Saturday started out with "old timey pictures" for Chatham in Hickory, then we picked up Devin and headed to the pumpkin patch- Chatham was in heaven!!!
We strolled around Walmart, looking for a winter hat for Chatham. Then it was off to Gram and Poppy's for the night (Aunt Beth and Cousin Thomas were in town).
While Chatham was occupied I ran another 5k in downton Newton-
my goal was to beat my time from 3 weeks ago (37 minutes and 49 seconds). I had Chris with me for motivation and he did just that....some how he talked he in to going a bit faster than my normal pace and I finished the race in 36 minutes and 25 seconds (just 1 second ahead of Chris- because he refused to beat me- haha, what a great guy he is!!!!)
Sunday I taught the 2 and 3 year old sunday school class with Suzy and then they came over (the Cadwallader's not the Sunday School Class) for lunch and arts & crafts. We made leaf wreaths and Fall Placemats for/with the kiddos. We didn't get the pumpkins carved before the Panther game- so they'll have to wait till our Tuesday night dinner date.
But Chatham (and Devin) were proudly sporting their Panther gear as the team FINALLY pulled off a win this season!!

Apple Festival 2010
**WARNING: Picture overload**
We kept Cara this weekend while Chris and Suzy went to a wedding in Wilmington- it was SO fun to have TWO toddler- and even more fun to have a GIRL!!!!!
Suzy let me come over that Thursday and pick out clothes for Cara- of course I picked all dresses- except for the matching monster outfits she and Chatham sported to the Apple Festival! They were SO cute and of course (as I wanted) everyone thought they were twins.
Lisa was keeping Harrison so she brought him and Lauren with us to the festival- they aren't quite as easy to take a picture of. But we settled with a few without smiles.
Walking through town we saw some tribal dancing and saw Sir Purr
Harrison was a bit more apprehensive than Nick
We took a hayride around the play area and Chatham LOVED it! The wagon was pulled by a real tractor and he reminded us of that about every 7 seconds!
I think Nick and Cara missed each other- they stuck together on the ride.
Below are 5 of the 7 Cadwallader's. Nana and Pepaw kept Nick for the weekend and tagged along too- what a good looking bunch!
Then we headed to the petting zoo- I have a lot of pictures of the back of the kids heads, so I settled with posting a picture of the hedgehog.
Last year it was SO cold you couldn't see that Devin and I had on our Harvest Orange, so this year I took a picture. Devin only lets me dress us alike about twice a year, so I have to capture the moment.
